Wind Hares
Fauna
-
Appearance: Slender-bodied, long-eared hares with tufts of feather-like fur at the ankles and tail. Their eyes shimmer faintly in moonlight.
-
Behavior: Crepuscular (active at dawn & dusk); they leap gracefully across meadows, often seen chasing drifting petals or tumbling leaves. Known for freezing mid-motion to avoid detection.
-
Diet: Tender grasses (Petalgrass), young bamboo shoots, fallen blossoms (Cloud Blossoms), and Moonpetal Lotus seeds. They also nibble on Breeze Moss.
-
Other Traits: Their fur carries faint static during the dry season, causing petals to cling to them, believed to bring luck.
- Spiritual Use: Their feather-like fur is collected (never hunted) during the shedding season and braided into prayer charms believed to bring good fortune on travels.
- Medicinal Use: None directly, though observing their patterns is used by herbalists to predict plant blooming cycles.
