This design kinda just crept up during its creation, i worked backwards on the form and erased and sculpted with alot of textured tools to get these grains rough forms! The thin threads ripped off the arms gives this dilapitated melting effect that lends to this designs fate of being left to burn with the forest itself. I'd imagine it was one of those huge ancient life trees that kinda hold up an ecosystem that couldnt withstand the fires any longer. The smaller set of horns i imagined was not just the tree tops, but the crown of the tree, leaving them lit up with embering fires like the fallen ruler this soul is. The fingers i encased in bark and left smouldering with embers, and any step or grip they make leaves behind a sooty charcoal print. The tassel on their chin was meant as a good luck charm left by a traveler at one point id like to imagine, and helped to store the faith of the people for this tree.
